CNY Giveaway Given Out!

Hi everyone! All 10 CNY giveaway sample sets have been given out! If you've yet to receive an email from me, don't fret! It's because I haven't sent them out! Look out for my email tonight alright?

For those of you who didn't get the sets, don't worry! I will be doing another round of giveaway on different Hankook products very very soon! Don't miss them this time. ;)

My Trip to Hokkaido

Weather is really crazy here!!! Just yesterday I got to experience like -20 degrees Celcius. Is that cold or what? That's not even freezing man...that's 20 degrees BELOW FREEZING temperature. Brrrr~~~

Too many pictures, though not too much of myself. Been helping Mummy and Sis take most of the pics. =D

Here's what I have from Day 1!!!

This is Mum and Sis fresh out of the Hokkaido Domestic Airport (we transferred from Narita International). I mentioned that this is their first snow, but I've never mentioned that this is also their virgin winter experience...

Guess what they're doing?

Blowing smoke!!!! Lol!!!!! They got sooooooo excited when they got out and realized that they are emitting "smoke" when they talk that they just started "Haaa-ing". Lol~ Yes I got my sampat-ness from my Mum, if you're one of those closer ones who got to see that side of me. =D

Me being all composed. Actually the first time I experienced winter I did EXACTLY the same thing. I'm sure that's true for most of you yes? YES DON'T LIE!!!! Nothing to be ashamed about. It's good to be able to laugh at yourself. ^.^

Very rushed tour schedule (we went on Chan Brothers), so we settled our first meal with food packed from the airport. Me and Sis - MOS Burger.

Eyeing my rice burger....

(Psst...after I finished it, I conclude - the Singapore one tastes better, somehow)

Mummy got TEMPURA DON!!!!!!!!!
I didn't walk to the other side of the airport or I'd have bought this too~~~~~~

Someone told me that tour packages follow this pattern:

Anyone who has done a typical tour package (other than the ones in Singapore because we are just too small) will have to agree with me. Lol.

My first photo stop: Jigokudani, also known as Hell Valley.

Beautiful as hell...and no, no pun intended, really. It IS so beautiful...

There is snow everywhere!!! I've seen snow in Seoul, and Milan, and atop Mount Titlis in Switzerland, but seeing snow just there, piled high, WHITE, on the landscape...that's only my first. First time was in Vancouver, and I didn't even play with snow then!

I've to remember to trim that fringe when I get to the hotel room... NOT cool.

Jigokudani is actually an explosion crater formed about 10,000 years ago. It still gives off hot water (which has become snow and ice here) and volcanic gas, and the whole place smells strongly of sulphur.

The floors are very very slippery due to melting snow and ice on the pathways, so we didn't get to cover any of the trails. I've heard that they're worth the walks. Maybe next time. ;)

Playing with snow. Snow fight!!!!!!
Captured Mum's snowball in mid-air!
P.S. I'm SURE my sister was trying to kill the photographer (me) with that thing she's holding...

Another of Mummy's throws!!!!
Huixian is still trying hard to make that snowball snowrock bigger.... O.O

Say Cheese!!! ^.^

Since everyone's in the mood to play and take nice snowy pictures, Mummy decided to "borrow" a snow spade from the uncles who were shovelling the snow. Nice!!!

Sis at it too, pretending to be a worker. =D

And it's time to 上车睡觉 again! Before I went to Lala-Land this was what I captured from the bus...

See those prints on the floor? They were very small footprints, and I kept seeing them across the smooth white snow. Too small for a man/child's. Fox? Raccoon? Whatever they belong to, I think these prints are really cute.

Next: Lake Toya. The view was nothing short of impressive. I mean, look at this:

Lake Toya is a volcanic Caldera lake, and is said to be the lake that NEVER freezes. (You can ice-skate on lakes that freezes, but you can't with this one.) It is also the 2nd most TRANSPARENT lake in Japan.

It's really a challenge to walk on snow, especially when each step you take, you never know how deep your legs are gonna stick in.

But I still find thick snow easier to walk on than thin ones which have melted to water then frozen to become ice (understand what I'm saying? Lol~). Those are slippery, and you can fall and hurt yourself if you're not careful. I nearly fell, too many times. If you fall on snow, however, you'll just end up sitting on the thick cushion of snow, which is soft. ^.^

God bless the people who come here to picnic in negative 5 degrees weather. One thing we're sure of - the food won't go bad even if you don't have the styrofoam box, and cold drinks remain cold, the WHOLE day. Lol~

We wanted to capture both of us jumping, but Mummy was cold and had her gloves off to take pictures for us so this was the only jump-attempt shot we have. Got 层次 hor like that? I like my sis' expression. Lol~~~

Water freezing!!! But only on the plant, creating some form of natural ice scupture. You can click on the picture for a clearer look.

Can tell that this is a half-frozen smile? LOL!!!

Next we're brought to this place where you can view and feed bears. We didn't go in, but we got a good view of a young active volcano in Hokkaido -

It feels kinda scary and exciting to be right at the foot of an active volcano. I mean, how do you know for sure when it will explode? Winter won't la hor? #Likethatalsocan

Just outside the Bear Farm we saw 2 guys selling HUMONGOUS scallops!

Smells really good...will KIV for later. Go into the Bear Farm for some shopping first.

Feeding bears are not in our itinerary. We're here to get this supposedly very very good Horse Oil, which is excellent for moisturizing your skin. Horse Oil is famous in Hokkaido (maybe even the whole of Japan), and this one is ONLY available here. Show you guys in the next post!

Anyways, yes, bear farm...

Mum and sis in a drama moment. LOLOL!!! See my Mum's face?!!!

While they're busy shopping, I'm outside doing the blow-smoke effect...
Trying to pretend to look pretty when I'm freezing my ass off. I wanted to take more shots, but I looked more and more stupid with each shot that I gave up in the end. Wanna see?

Don't drink water now okay?

You have been warned...

Can't believe I was doing this and thinking I was doing a pretty shot, IN PUBLIC!!!!
*smacks face*

Sis was persistent in trying one of these... (actually me too, but I just kept quiet. Lol~)

They sell strawberries and other fruits too. But if you see the guys selling scallops, GO BUY!!!!!
Worth every bit of the 500Yen per piece...because it's so big! And the taste is...Oh my gooood....yesyes YES~~~~

Taken at Odori Park. This is where the annual Ice Festival is held. We miss it by a week!!!! It's going to be on next week onwards!!!! ARGH!!!!! I heard that the Ice Festival is really beautiful, and ice sculptures will be carved and displayed here. I want to see~~~~~~ *sobs*

Head down the underground tunnel (the same entrance as the train station), and you will discover a shopping paradise that is independent of the weather (I like! Especially during mad crazy winter like this.)

This made me feel a bit better (only a slight bit) about not being able to witness the Ice Festival... know... ONE WEEK!!!

And the night ends with dinner with a piece of pork that is big enough to be a facial mask sheet.

These are just the tip of the iceberg! Updates from Day 2 onwards coming soon!!! ;)

Clarification on Hankook

Hi guys! Just an update! Some of you have made purchases for Hankook products and there appears to not be a further 30% discount reflected.

Just to clarify, if u view items on the page without using the log-in n password I gave you, the "Original Price" reflected (and struck off) will be THE actual original price. If, however, you log in with my account and password "HankookC", the "Original Price" reflected will be the price AFTER 30% discount. Then the price listed after 20% will be the final discounted price. So the 30% discount is already in the listed price (disguising as the "Original Price").

So sorry for the confusion! I apologize to you on behalf of HANKOOK COSMETICS!

Whenever you log-in with my account, you will (always) see the original price as the price after 30%. Whatever special promotions Hankook Cosmetics has during that time will be on top of the 30% discount! And now, ONLY between 16 January - 16 February, you will get an additional 20% discount on top of the members' 30%!

Happy Shopping! ;)

Hokkaido for CNY!!!

Greetings from Hokkaido!!!

Flew off the first night of CNY. And gosh it was SNOWING like crazy today!!!! Mum & Sis' virgin snow experience so we were all really excited. Will show you guys pictures as SOON as I can okay? Hardly any free wifi areas here, and foreigners are not allowed to buy any Data Sim Cards in Japan. Can only borrow. I know! It's strange right? So at the end of the trip you still gotta return. Troublesome like mad. So no internet for me unless I'm lucky with the hotels.

BUT BUT BUT I promise I'll try to put up some pictures by tomorrow before I check out (changing hotels! Following package tours~ and we're changing like 4 different hotels in 6 days! *faints*).

Hope everyone is enjoying Chinese New Year and the looooong weekend back home! ;)
Talk to you soon!

SSparkle Glam: 2nd Issue

The second SSparkle Glam is finally here! This past week has been nothing less than exciting, I must say. Learn and be better. And then...和气生财~ In this new year, I wish for everyone to

It HAS got to be Jane Aldridge!!!

I was walking around Jakarta airport during transit to Jogjakarta for my "See the World" shoot, and, call it fate or whatever, but this book caught my eye, and I was drawn to it immediately:

I'm guessing it's Jane Aldridge herself who caught my eye.
I mean, look at her! She's should I put it...pretty is not a good enough adjective...eye-catching? Yah she's so eye-catching!

So I bought the book, and when I got to the hotel, I started googling her, reading her blog, and have been a fan ever since.

I love the fact that she can have so many looks - girly, cool, chic, and elegant. And she is only 19!
In some ways she reminds me of Emma Watson. Not the looks per se, but her style, and that aura.
I really like this girl. She inspires me to dress up. =)

Go check her out at Amazing~

I also love the fact that she's super close to her mum Judy. Judy is also a blogger who teaches how to D-I-Y fashion and home decor stuff. Hers is at

For all of you familiar with this Korean cosmetics and skincare giant, Hankook Cosmetics is having a MAJOR sale on their website!!! The laboratory which helped big brands such as L'oreal and Lancome with their Research and Development of products in their early start-up days, Hankook is now the TO-GO-TO for Korean companies looking to OEM their products. (Hundreds of Korean brands have their products manufactured by Hankook today!)

Their star products today?
Sansim Cheon Ga Sun

This is a $1000-product!!! I've been told that many Indonesian Taitais swear by this, and they buy it by the cartons. O.O It's said that using this product has the following benefits:

1) Eternal Beauty, a Gift from the Heavens

Skin is made beautiful by using ingredients of oriental medicine that have been selected under strict criteria.

2) Anti-Aging

Capsulaton of key ingredients using nano technology allows deep absorption of their effects by the skin, supplying nutrients and revilatizing the weakened skin, thus improving signs of aging.

3) Skin Elasticity

The specially selected ingredients of oriental medicine promote cell division, allowing regeneration of new skin cells thus assisting in improvement of elasticity.

4) Bright Clear Skin (Brightening)

Helps improve skin blemishes and imperfections that result from aging and brings back a healthy glow to the skin.

5) Hydration

The biggest concern of aging is wrinkles and they often result from humid conditions. The natural hydrating ingredients supply and maintain skin's moisture to improve the skin's ability to retain moisture.

6) Skin Calming

Improves skin troubles caused by external stimulation.

7) Smooth and Tight Skin

Exfoliates the skin and maintains toing-toing-ness of the skin.

This is a much raved-about product (you can google it! Especially if you know Korean, you can find A LOT of Korean info about it! I can't understand it for nuts though. Lol~), though this is not something all of us can afford. I'd KIV it for when my skin gets older. =)

They have other products in the Sansim line too, and you can view them here.

Their other Star Product?

Ossion Mild Touch Detox Bubble Mask.
This is actually the BEST-SELLING product in their entire Ossion series (which is suitable even for very sensitive skin).

It's a Bubble Mask that you apply onto your face after cleansing. You then wash it off after 2 minutes, followed by an exfoliating soft scrub (like the Ossion Peeling Gel), or your usual skincare routine, or another leave-on mask.

Like the name suggests, this one detoxifies your skin. What happens is you apply a clear layer on your face, and wait. Bubbles will appear, and what these bubbles do is to push out the dirt from your pores, thus helping to remove black/white heads and impurities, and reduce/prevent the occurence of acne/pimples.

They suggest 2-3 times a week, but I follow what the Sales Manager did for herself - every single day! Lol! Normal usage will last about 9 months (Wah soooooooooooooo long!), and every day usage will last u about 4. Still considered very long isn't it?

So other than pore-cleansing, what else does this do?

Get ready for this -

It helps to slim your face (because it contains caffeine), enhancing the V-line that so many of us yearn for!
It also firms and smoothens your skin, control facial oil, hydrate, as well as brighten the skin. It also works to create an invisible protection layer against external skin-damaging factors, especially air pollution.  The oxygen delivered to your skin will also aid in cell-renewal, thus preventing dull and aging skin.

You can read more about the Bubble Mask on their website.

I tried it, and I liked it. Unlike other bubble masks I have tried, this one is really bubbley, and the bubbles are very very small, which means it should work better at pushing out impurities from your clogged pores.

Want to try it for yourself?

Psssst!!! In line with CNY, I will be giving away 8 sample sets consisting of the Ossion Mild Touch Cleansing Foam + Bubble Mask + Peeling Gel (Soft Exfoliating Scrub), the Merdel Cream (which I will talk about next week), and the Ossion Sunblock Cream.

Send your Name, Contact Number, and Address to

The first 10 emails will get the sample sets! Good luck! Heng heng!!!
