Review: Hada Labo

I was asked to review Japan's current best-selling product - Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) Hydrating Lotion, as well as the SHA Hydrating Face Wash.

First, more about this brand. I remember seeing it in Watsons one day and wondering what this new product is. This caught my eye:

You know there are sooo many beauty products available to the population in Japan, yet this one manages to sell 1 bottle every 4 seconds! Must be something good.

More about Hada Labo. Hada Labo stands for the lifestyle philosophy Perfect x Simple. All unnecessary additives, colourant, fragrance and mineral oil are removed, so the skin is not burdened. Only the finest, purest and highly effective ingredients that are beneficial to the skin are retained to ensure maximum effectiveness. Nothing more, nothing less. Launched in 2004, this is now the Number 1 face lotion in Japan.

Super Hyaluronic Acid. This amazing thing forms a smooth, moisture locking shield to replenish and retain essential moisture of the skin. Now, Hyaluronic Acid is already very 神奇 - 1gm of HA can hold up to 6 litres of water. Super Hyaluronic Acid has TWICE the moisture retention capacity, meaning 1gm can hold up to 12 litres!!!!! WAH!!!!! Sounds fantastic for someone with dry skin like myself. Why didn't I know of this product when I was an air stewardess??? My dry skin, made worse by the dry cabin air and giving too much of the Singapore Girl Smile, gave me smile lines lor! This is definitely something I think all air stewards and stewardesses should own...

Hada Labo is extremely gentle on skin, and it's oil free, fragrance free and alcohol free so it's suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin.

I'm going to wash my face now!

It's got this slight herbal bitter smell. Definitely unscented.

THE star product.

This is the usual amount that I use. Now, the application is slightly different from your usual products. You pat this on the skin, until it is completely absorbed.

Don't slap your own face okay, PAT!!! =DD

I absolutely love this product from the first day i started using it. My skin feels so "toing toing~" after that!!!

This is how my bare skin (with some under-eye concealer la) looks like after using Hada Labo. It really feels moisturized!!! *loves!!!!*

Nice right? Like egg leh!!! with freckles! Lol~

Foundation glides on VERY nicely!

When your skin is very dry (trust me, I know this...my flying days were plagued by peeling skin...), makeup application is very difficult. The colours don't stay on your skin and falls off very easily (Think blusher and eyeshadow). Then I realized after using Hada Labo, my makeup lasts~~~~~~ Woot!!! Thumbs up!!!

You can read more about Hada Labo on their website.

If you ask me, I would recommend it to EVERYONE, even those with oily skin. I have SKII Whitening Serum as well, and what I do is I pour a bit onto my palm, together with the Hada Labo Lotion, and pat everything onto my skin. So my skin is moisturized, and whitened... Wah I so smart!!!

It's also featured on 女人我最大!

Hada Labo is available at all Watsons stores! Get yours soon, okay? It's really a great product, especially the lotion... YUM!!!
